The 50th UAE National Day Celebration at Hatta was an extraordinary spectacle that highlighted the nation’s progress and achievements.

A visually stunning performance set on an artificial pool at the edge of the Hatta Dam, this event featured 100 telescopic replicas of iconic UAE buildings, serving as a powerful visual narrative of the UAE’s journey over the past 50 years.

Evolution collaborated with LarMac Projects ME Limited to deliver the scenic production elements that became the centerpiece of this landmark celebration.

Scenic Production Deliverables

• Designed, supplied, installed, and operated 100 custom lightboxes, each representing an iconic UAE building.
  • Lightboxes were engineered with telescopic functionality, retracting into the stage floor.
  • Each structure featured independently controlled LED lighting, providing dynamic visual effects.
• Ensured structural integrity and safety for live performers, withstanding high winds, rain, and humidity in the mountainous Hatta environment.

Design and Execution

• Each telescopic building was meticulously crafted to capture the likeness of its real-world counterpart while maintaining relative size differences.
  • Taller buildings were constructed with up to four tiers of telescoping segments, requiring customized lifting mechanisms.
• Integrated heavy-duty industrial tracks and telescopic tower machines to enable seamless operation of the buildings.
• Optimized 3D lighting effects with carefully positioned LEDs, ensuring maximum visual impact for audiences viewing the stage from considerable distances.
• Connected all 100 lightboxes into a single electrical circuit, enabling synchronized control of colors and lighting sequences from a command center situated 30 meters away on the dam.
