Marsh Energy Conference
The seventh Marsh Biennial Energy Industry Conference brought more than 560 participants from 50 countries to Dubai, making it the largest international gathering focused on energy risk at the time. The main conference was held at The Westin, followed by an exclusive dinner at Emirates Towers.
Marsh wanted an event that felt sophisticated without becoming remote or overly formal. The most important conversations would not happen only on the main stage; they would also take place over coffee, during registration, while delegates used event technology and as guests moved between programme moments.
Evolution designed the experience around those spaces between sessions. Conference production, hospitality, technology support and delegate service were treated as one connected environment, giving the event a social rhythm that encouraged people to pause, meet and continue the discussion.
The Challenge
A global risk conference needed to communicate authority and precision, but its real value depended on interaction among a geographically diverse audience. Generic circulation spaces would have missed an opportunity to support the conference's purpose.
The three-day programme also crossed two premium hotel venues and included workshops, registration, digital support, branded materials, content capture and an evening dinner. These different functions needed to feel consistent with Marsh's brand and service standards.
The Solution
Evolution established the formal conference environment through integrated branding, staging and production, while giving equal attention to the delegate experience beyond the main programme.
The custom Pop-Up Cafe created an informal networking space through a branded coffee truck and specialty coffee bar, encouraging conversations between sessions. The Cyber Lounge provided a dedicated environment for digital engagement, while the Mobile App Helpdesk made event technology accessible and easy to navigate. Together, these spaces transformed essential services into meaningful touchpoints that encouraged interaction throughout the event.
Registration for more than 560 delegates was designed as the first expression of the conference experience. Branded furniture, collateral, programme books and delegate gifts reinforced a consistent visual identity, while photography and video captured not only the keynote sessions but also the conversations, connections and atmosphere that defined the event.
The transition from The Westin to the evening dinner at Emirates Towers was managed with the same focus on continuity and guest experience. By coordinating both venues as a single integrated programme, Evolution maintained the conference's identity from the formal business sessions through to the closing hospitality experience.

Outcome
The completed conference used the whole environment to support professional connection. Delegates had clear places to register, seek assistance, work with event technology, meet informally and carry conversations beyond the scheduled sessions.
This made service design part of the creative response. The stage established authority, but the cafes, lounges and support spaces gave the international audience practical reasons to remain engaged with one another throughout the three-day programme.
