As part of the UAE winning the bid to host the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi, Evolution was selected to organize the official launch events. These events included a signing ceremony held at the Sea Palace in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and other invited dignitaries and a press conference at the IPIC Arena.
During the press conference guests and athletes were invited to participate in Unified Sports games and a Youth Circle. Evolution’s Projects Team were able to quickly source a suitable venue. The design and scenic teams were then able to create and fabricate custom structures and branding for the reception area and main arena. Our in-house technical team provided installation and management of all equipment requirements including full event lighting, rigging, audio and video. The main arena layout was designed to incorporate a 5-a-side football pitch and bocce courts with the press area placed centrally to encourage interactivity within the one space. Basketball hoops and table tennis tables were placed alongside the bocce courts for less impactful sporting options. Custom branded walls throughout the arena promoted the variety of sports undertaken by UAE Special Olympic Athletes. |
