A temporary VIP tent transformed into a refined Visit Saudi hospitality environment, supported by a coordinated welcome presence at Emirates Dubai 7s.

From 29 November to 1 December 2024, the Saudi Tourism Authority hosted guests at Emirates Dubai 7s through a Visit Saudi Hospitality Tent in the VIP Communal Garden and a separate Welcome Tent at the VIP entrance.

The creative task was to make the hospitality space feel permanent, premium and unmistakably Visit Saudi despite its temporary shell. Evolution treated the tent structure as something to be visually dissolved through interior design, finish, furniture, branding and technical integration.

The guest journey began at the branded welcome point and continued into an environment designed around comfort, service and tourism hospitality rather than the conventions of a sporting-event tent.

The Challenge

Temporary structures can reveal their limitations through exposed systems, generic finishes and compromised spatial character. For a national tourism brand hosting VIP guests, those cues would have weakened the experience.

The two guest touchpoints also needed to feel connected. Arrival branding, the interior atmosphere and the supporting technical equipment had to communicate one standard even though they served different functions within the event.

The Solution

Evolution developed a complete interior fit-out for the Hospitality Tent, using layered finishes, tailored furniture and carefully controlled detailing to conceal the temporary structure and create a more resolved architectural environment.

Technical equipment was integrated around the hospitality requirements so service and guest comfort could operate without disrupting the visual treatment. The equipment was treated as part of the fit-out rather than an exposed production layer.

At the VIP entrance, the Welcome Tent carried the same brand character through custom design and applied graphics. This established continuity from the first point of contact and allowed the two spaces to read as one Visit Saudi experience.

Central coordination connected the hospitality, scenic, furniture, technical and installation workstreams, preserving quality across both locations during the live sporting event.

  • Design approach intended to disguise the temporary tent structure.
  • Custom branding and design for the Welcome Tent at the VIP entrance.

Outcome

The completed environment felt like a purpose-designed hospitality destination rather than a temporary enclosure. Guests moved from a polished welcome point into a comfortable, brand-led setting that reflected the prestige of the Saudi Tourism Authority.

The transformation was successful because the scenic, furniture and technical decisions all served the same objective: removing the visual language of the tent and replacing it with the character of Visit Saudi hospitality.
