• ADSW & ZFEP Gala

An invitation-only reception and awards dinner combining elegant décor, projection mapping, bespoke furniture, entertainment and protocol within Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2018 brought more than 35,000 participants from 175 countries to the capital. Within the wider programme, the Official ADSW Reception and Zayed Future Energy Prize Gala Dinner were held as invitation-only events at Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The setting carried immediate architectural and cultural significance. Evolution needed to create an event with its own identity and sense of occasion while allowing the museum's architecture and collections to remain at the heart of the guest experience.

Evolution's approach was to complement rather than compete with the venue. Custom scenic elements, projection, furniture, floral design and carefully managed protocol were brought together to create a cohesive environment that connected the reception, awards ceremony, hospitality and entertainment into one seamless guest journey.

    The Challenge

Louvre Abu Dhabi leaves little room for generic ballroom thinking. Décor, stages, lighting and projection needed to complement the architecture rather than compete with it, while venue restrictions and HSE requirements shaped what could be installed and how.

The programme also had to move invited guests through reception, dining, entertainment and recognition without exposing operational complexity. Service, protocol, show flow and technical delivery all needed to maintain the evening’s sense of ease.

Orchestral performance stage set with acoustic sound baffling and precision spot lighting

    The Solution

Evolution provided overall event management, coordinating planning, design, supplier interfaces and live execution around the specific requirements of the Louvre setting.

Colourful but controlled décor introduced warmth and identity, with custom stages, scenic elements and branding tailored to the exclusivity of the reception and gala.

Projection mapping and other technical treatments extended the visual experience without requiring heavy physical intervention. The technology enhanced the architecture and programme while preserving clear attention on speakers, winners and entertainment.

Bespoke furniture, floral centrepieces, giveaways and guest-experience details completed the hospitality environment. Evolution also coordinated entertainment and managed HSE, protocol and venue restrictions across the full programme.

    Delivery Highlights

    • Official ADSW Reception and ZFEP Gala Dinner at Louvre Abu Dhabi.
    • Invitation-only hospitality programme within Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
    • Overall event management, planning and live execution.
    • Custom stage design, scenic elements and event branding.

    Outcome

The event achieved a distinct sense of occasion without overwhelming one of Abu Dhabi’s most recognisable cultural settings. Guests experienced an evening that moved naturally from arrival and hospitality into awards and entertainment.

The architecture remained part of the event story, while design, projection, furniture and protocol gave the sustainability programme an elegant and appropriately international expression.

  • ADIPEC Awards

A 42-metre stage, synchronised table lighting and nominee-led pre-function experience created for more than 600 energy-sector guests at Emirates Palace.

In October 2022, DMG Events and ADNOC hosted the 12th ADIPEC Awards at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, welcoming more than 600 guests to recognise businesses and individuals shaping the future of the energy sector.

The creative requirement was to give recognition a sense of scale. Evolution designed the evening so the awardees, nominee stories and energy-sector achievements were present throughout the guest journey, not confined to the moment an envelope was opened.

A wide scenic composition established the ceremony’s authority, while programmable lighting, screen content and nominee displays connected the dining room, stage and pre-function experience through one visual narrative.

    The Challenge

Awards evenings must balance celebration with precision. More than 600 guests needed an elegant hospitality environment, clear sightlines and an uninterrupted show sequence, while nominees and winners required a platform capable of carrying both personal stories and industry significance.

The scale of the ballroom created another challenge: the stage had to feel commanding without overwhelming the guests closest to it. Table centrepieces, multiple screens and pre-function content also needed to behave as parts of the same awards identity rather than isolated production features.

ADIPEC Awards 2022 ballroom dinner setup with illuminated tables and a dramatic circular stage backdrop.

    The Solution

Evolution developed a 42-metre-wide main stage with custom scenic architecture and programmable lighting. Multiple screens were integrated across the composition, with a circular branded screen positioned behind the lectern to create a consistent visual centre for speeches, presentations and winner moments.

Custom animations, films and screen content gave the ceremony an editorial rhythm, allowing each category to arrive with its own visual energy while remaining within the wider ADIPEC Awards language. Evolution Events led this content and media work, with technical systems supporting precise playback and show control.

Programmable table centrepieces synchronised the guest environment with key show moments, extending the ceremony beyond the stage. In the pre-function area, nominee displays and photo backdrops allowed recognition to begin from arrival and gave guests a clear opportunity to engage with the award categories before entering the ballroom.

Photography and video coverage documented the evening, while coordinated scenic, technical and live-event planning protected the transitions between hospitality, speeches, category content and presentations.

    Delivery Highlights

    • Design and production of the 12th ADIPEC Awards at Emirates Palace.
    • A 42-metre-wide main stage with custom scenic elements and programmable lighting.
    • Multiple integrated screens and a circular branding screen behind the lectern.
    • Custom animations, films and screen content supporting award storytelling.
    • Programmable table centrepieces synchronised with the event identity.
    • Pre-function nominee displays and dedicated photo-backdrop walls.
    • Photography and video coverage documenting the ceremony.
Panoramic shot of Abu Dhabi ballroom filled with energy industry professionals during awards

    Outcome

The completed environment gave the ADIPEC Awards a visual scale equal to the achievements being recognised. Guests encountered the nominees from the pre-function area onward, while the stage, tables and content worked together to build anticipation across the evening.

Recognition was therefore experienced as a complete hospitality and storytelling journey: personal enough to honour individual winners, yet substantial enough to represent the influence of the global energy sector.

  • 13th WTOMC Gala Dinner

Qasr Al Watan transformed for a formal evening of international diplomacy, cultural performance and UAE hospitality during the WTO’s 13th Ministerial Conference.

During the World Trade Organization’s 13th Ministerial Conference in 2024, international dignitaries and VIP delegates gathered at Qasr Al Watan for a formal gala dinner hosted in Abu Dhabi.

The evening needed to operate as both diplomatic hospitality and a cultural introduction to the UAE. Evolution was entrusted with the full turnkey delivery, creating a guest journey that moved from palace arrival and welcome reception through to speeches, performances and dinner while maintaining the formality and protocol expected of the setting.

The creative approach used elegance, clarity and UAE cultural expression to connect each stage of the programme. Scenic design, tablescapes, signage and activation environments were developed as one cohesive visual language that complemented the palace architecture and the significance of the international audience.

    The Challenge

Qasr Al Watan carries significant architectural presence, meaning temporary interventions needed to create impact while respecting the character of the venue. The event also required clear navigation from entrance gates through arrival, reception and dining areas for guests moving within a highly controlled protocol environment.

Behind the guest experience, catering teams, performers and production crews required dedicated operational spaces and carefully managed access routes. These requirements had to support the programme delivery while remaining discreet and separate from the formal diplomatic setting.

Premium gala dining experience created for international ministers and global trade delegates

    The Solution

Evolution designed and constructed the pre-function and gala dinner environments as one connected guest journey. Branded walls and activation stands established the MC13 identity on arrival, while the main stage provided a formal focal point for speeches and cultural performances.

The gala environment used custom-designed tablescapes and coordinated seating to introduce refinement throughout the dining space. Rather than relying on a single statement feature, the design considered detail across the room, ensuring the formal dinner experience felt cohesive from every guest perspective.

Bespoke directional signage guided guests and VIPs from the entrance gates through the palace while supporting smooth movement within the venue’s architecture. Back-of-house tents were installed for catering operations and performers, allowing guest-facing areas to remain controlled and discreet.

Evolution coordinated closely with venue, protocol and security stakeholders, aligning installation, guest movement and programme timing with the requirements of an international diplomatic occasion.

    Delivery Highlights

    • Full turnkey delivery of the WTO MC13 Gala Dinner at Qasr Al Watan.
    • Design and construction of the pre-function and formal dining environments.
    • Main stage for opening speeches and cultural performances.
    • Branded walls and activation stands reinforcing the conference identity.

    • Back-of-house tents supporting catering services and performers.
    • Coordination with venue, protocol and security teams.
Live entertainment celebrating Emirati culture during the WTO Ministerial Conference Gala Dinner

    Outcome

The gala gave international delegates an evening that reflected the character and significance of its Abu Dhabi setting. Palace architecture, cultural performance and carefully managed hospitality came together to create a dignified transition from ministerial proceedings into an evening of connection and conversation.

Guests experienced the occasion without being exposed to the complexity behind the delivery. Supporting spaces, guest navigation and stakeholder coordination worked together to ensure the diplomatic programme unfolded with precision and ease.

  • Al Awa’el Retreat

A donor tree, interactive achievements gallery, presentation stage and collective photo platform turned recognition into a visible story of contribution and growth.

Sandooq Al Watan hosted its inaugural Al Awa’el Retreat at Manarat Al Saadiyat on 6 March 2018, bringing donors and supporting partners together around the organisation’s contribution to the UAE’s economic and social development.

The retreat was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, then Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, reflecting the significance of the programme and the people being recognised.

Evolution designed the environment around contribution made visible. The stage, interactive gallery, group photo platform and symbolic tree installation each gave donors a different place within the story of the organisation.

    The Challenge

Donor recognition can become overly formal when every achievement is delivered through speeches and awards. The retreat needed to acknowledge individual and collective contribution while also explaining what that support had enabled Sandooq Al Watan to achieve.

The environment therefore had to move between presentation, storytelling, commemoration and senior protocol. Every element had to feel considered and appropriate to the occasion, reinforcing the wider purpose of Sandooq Al Watan’s work.

Community leaders and youth ambassadors attending national empowerment conference

    The Solution

Evolution designed and constructed a stage with an integrated screen, creating a clear setting for presentations and recognition while keeping content central to the visual composition.

An interactive gallery presented key Sandooq Al Watan achievements, allowing guests to engage with the organisation’s progress beyond the formal stage programme.

A bespoke tree installation represented donors as leaves, turning the relationship between individual support and collective growth into a simple, memorable physical metaphor.

A dedicated group photo platform accommodated all donors and provided a ceremonial point for collective commemoration. Audio, lighting and visual systems supported the gallery, stage and wider atmosphere throughout the retreat.

    Delivery Highlights

    • Inaugural Al Awa’el Retreat at Manarat Al Saadiyat.
    • Event design and production for donors and supporting partners.
    • Stage with an integrated presentation and awards screen.
    • Interactive gallery communicating organisational achievements.
    • Bespoke donor tree symbolising community and growth.
    • Large group photo platform for collective recognition.
    • Integrated audio, lighting and visual production.
Media photo backdrop wall featuring national initiative branding for press photos

    Outcome

The retreat created a more engaging approach to donor recognition by translating achievements and impact into a physical experience. Guests could explore the organisation’s progress, understand the role of individual contributions and see how collective support had helped advance Sandooq Al Watan’s wider mission.

The tree installation became the central visual feature of the retreat, with individual leaves connected through one structure to represent the relationship between donors and the collective impact of their contributions.

  • HIPA Power Awards

Your Power, Your Perspective shaped a full-house ceremony through original film, 7.1 music, digital storytelling and a dedicated winners gallery.

In 2025, the 14th season of the Hamdan International Photography Award celebrated 22 winners at the Museum of the Future. Categories ranged from black-and-white and sports photography to drone cinematography, united by the season theme Power.

Evolution developed a bespoke sub-theme, Your Power, Your Perspective, to turn that broad theme into a more personal audience proposition. The idea recognised that photographic power comes not only from the subject, but from the individual viewpoint behind the image.

That narrative guided the ceremony’s scenic environment, motion graphics, films, digital content and music. The result was a full-house awards experience in which every discipline reinforced the emotional energy behind the winning work.

    The Challenge

The Museum of the Future auditorium required a creative response capable of matching a highly recognisable venue without overwhelming the photography. Twenty-two winners and multiple categories also needed individual recognition within one coherent show arc.

The audience journey extended beyond the auditorium. The pre-function area needed to introduce the winners, provide comfortable hospitality and carry a live connection to the ceremony for guests moving through the space.

Evolution Technical dynamic stage lighting rig casting vivid spotlight arrays across set

    The Solution

Evolution built the creative direction around Your Power, Your Perspective. Motion graphics and screen storytelling treated every category as a different expression of personal agency, while retaining one visual language across the ceremony.

Custom films and bespoke video sequences were developed alongside an original musical composition mixed and produced in 7.1 surround sound. This made sound an active part of the narrative, immersing the audience in each transition rather than using music only as background accompaniment.

A dedicated winners gallery incorporated integrated screens displaying tailored category and recipient content. The gallery provided a more intimate encounter with the winning work before and after the formal programme.

The pre-function area was fully fitted with lounge seating, high tables, plants and decorative elements. An extended feature wall with a built-in screen carried a live feed of the ceremony, maintaining engagement and continuity beyond the auditorium doors.

    Delivery Highlights

    • Creative direction built around the bespoke sub-theme Your Power, Your Perspective.
    • Full-house awards ceremony celebrating 22 winners at the Museum of the Future.
    • Original films, video sequences, motion graphics and digital category content.
    • Bespoke music composed, mixed and produced in 7.1 surround sound.
    • Dedicated winners gallery with integrated category and recipient screens.
    • Pre-function lounge environment with seating, high tables, planting and decorative details.
    • Extended feature wall incorporating a live feed of the ceremony.
Widescreen high-definition LED video wall presenting grand prize-winning photography entries

    Outcome

The ceremony gave the theme Power a human point of view. Each winning photograph was presented not only as an image, but as evidence of the perspective and intent behind it.

The auditorium, gallery and pre-function environment remained connected through content and live media, allowing recognition to continue across the complete guest experience rather than beginning and ending on the stage.

  • HIPA Diversity Awards

The theme Diversity translated into seven-screen stage architecture, an immersive winners gallery, bespoke music and a photography-led VIP invitation.

On 16 November 2023, the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award presented its 12th-season ceremony at Dubai Opera under the theme Diversity.

The subject demanded more than a conventional awards set. Evolution’s creative approach used difference itself as the organising idea: changing screen proportions, global musical references, varied image formats and a gallery that allowed winning photography to be encountered before the formal ceremony.

The result was an awards identity designed around perspective. Every touchpoint, from the VIP invitation and online registration journey to the stage and gallery, reinforced photography as a way of seeing the world through many viewpoints.

    The Challenge

Photography carries its own visual authority, so the event environment needed to elevate the images without competing with them. The theme Diversity also had to be expressed through real design and content decisions rather than relying on a single graphic motif.

Dubai Opera introduced exacting venue, loading and presentation requirements. Seven screens, custom gallery structures, live content and a formal guest programme had to be integrated with the precision expected of both an international photography award and a landmark performance venue.

Wide-angle shot of full auditorium audience during HIPA photography awards ceremony

    The Solution

Evolution designed the stage around seven screens in different sizes and orientations. Their varied composition created an immediate visual expression of Diversity while giving photographs, category films and winner content flexible formats within the same scenic frame.

An introductory film was developed with a bespoke musical composition that combined recognised classical influences with sounds drawn from different parts of the world. This gave the ceremony an emotional opening rooted in cultural range rather than a generic awards fanfare.

Four custom gallery installations, each carrying two screens, created an immersive showcase for award-winning work. The gallery shifted the audience from social arrival into active viewing, allowing the images to establish the artistic context before guests entered the auditorium.

A physical VIP invitation was designed as a Polaroid photo box, while a dedicated online registration platform streamlined RSVPs. Together, these details extended the photography concept into both tangible and digital parts of the guest journey.

    Delivery Highlights

    • Creative direction for the HIPA 12th-season ceremony under the theme Diversity.
    • Dynamic stage architecture featuring seven screens in varied sizes and orientations.
    • Introductory film supported by a bespoke globally influenced musical composition.
    • Four custom gallery installations, each incorporating dual screens.
    • Photography-led VIP invitation designed as a Polaroid photo box.
    • Dedicated online registration platform supporting guest RSVPs.
Winning photographers receiving awards on stage during international ceremony in Dubai

    Outcome

The ceremony allowed Diversity to be seen, heard and experienced rather than simply announced. The seven-screen stage gave each category a distinctive visual treatment, while the gallery placed the photography itself at the centre of the arrival experience.

From the Polaroid invitation to the final winner presentation, the event remained connected to the act of image-making and the many perspectives celebrated by HIPA.
